Relax and dine with us in the lovely surroundings of Twickenham’s 17th Century cobbled street. Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday until 6th September.
Royal Shakespeare Society Youth Theatre Production - Mary Wallace Theatre, Twickenham Riverside 7.45pm
Enjoy the RSS Youth Theatre Group’s performance of “I Hate Shakespeare” at the Mary Wallace Theatre. Also running 13th June at 7.45pm and Sunday 14th June at 12.30pm.

Tug Of War - Church Street 6pm
The Cabbage Patch challenges local teams to a gruelling tug-of-war to open this year’s Twickenham Festival. To enter a team ring Frank or Stuart on 8892 3874, or call into the Cabbage Patch to pick up a form, or just come along and encourage the competitors.

Farmers’ Market - Holly Road Car Park 9am - 1pm
Wonderful fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy products. This week there is also a Hog Roast and food sampling. Plus, see the Spring Grove and Off-Spring Morris Dancers in action at around 11am!
Turner’s House Tours - Sandycoombe Lodge, Sandycoombe Road, St Margarets 10am and 11.30am
Open to the public today only. Tickets £5 must be bought in advance from Crusader Travel 020 8744 0474. Proceeds to the Friends of Turner’s House.
Marriott Twickenham Dragon Boat Challenge - The Embankment 10am - 4pm approx.
Come and cheer on your friends, or even your favourite pub as they compete in this hugely popular event. Safety boat provided by Twickenham Yacht Club.
Treasure Island Fun Day - Arthur’s by the River Café & playground, Jubilee Gardens, The Embankment 11am - 4pm

Come over to Eel Pie Island! Meet the businesses and charities in Phoenix Wharf. See information displays, craft demonstrations and join in with children’s art activities, whilst enjoying the Steel Band. Bar and food available.
Pope’s Grotto Tours - St James Independent School, Cross Deep 10.30am, 11.15am and 12pm
Begun in 1720, this fascinating grotto was decorated with around 200 different mineral specimens, many of which still remain. Tickets £3.50 must be bought in advance from Crusader Travel 020 8744 0474. Proceeds to the Twickenham Museum.

St Mary’s Church ‘Mary Poppins’ Summer Fayre - Church Street, 11am - 3pm - Opened this year by actress Stella Gonet
Barbecue; ploughman’s; cream teas; Flower Festival; Mr Topples the children’s entertainer; a variety of stalls and games; St Mary’s Infant and Junior School Choir; Orleans Park School Jazz Band and a finale visit from local MP Vince Cable to draw the raffle and present prizes. Not to be missed! (Funds raised will go to support the Three Wings Trust in Richmond and a womens refuge run by the the Community of the Sisters of the Church in the Soloman Islands).

Archdeacon Cambridge School Summer Fête - Archdeacon Cambridge School, The Green, Hampton Road 11.30am - 3.30pm
Raising funds to refurbish the school swimming pool, improve the wildlife area and the infant playground. There will be music, food, games, stalls and fun for all.
Twickenham Museum - The Embankment 11am - 5pm
Discover the rich history of your local area. Visit the current exhibition “Then and Now in Twickenham, Whitton, Teddington and the Hamptons” - views of street scenes and houses as they were and as they are today.
York House Tours - York House, Richmond Road 12 - 2pm

The Carnival this year celebrates the theme ‘Friends of the World’. The Carnival Parade sets off at 12 noon from York House, with performances and art activities from 1pm at the Carnival Village.

Trafalgar School Summer Fair - Meadway, Twickenham 12.30pm - 4pm
Fun for all the family with a huge variety of stalls to try your luck and chance from the Adult or Kid’s Tombolas, to Beat the Goalie. There are lots of activities to enjoy, including the huge inflatable slide and the obstacle course. Also on offer is a wide variety of food from delicious lunches, barbecue food to traditional afternoon tea. Admission £1.00 for adults - children go free!

TWICKENHAM CARNIVAL
THIS YEAR THE TWICKENHAM CARNIVAL WILL WELCOME THE WORLD THROUGH
A CELEBRATION OF ‘INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP’.
Carnival Parade 12pm
A spectacular Carnival Parade will wind its way along Twickenham Riverside to a Carnival Village in the grounds of Orleans House Gallery. Meet the Carnival Parade at 12 noon from York House, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Carnival with Paraiso School of Samba, BREACC, steel bands, Carnival artists and community and school groups from across the borough.
Carnival Village1 - 6pm
Continue the Carnival festivities at Orleans House Gallery from 1pm. The whole site will be transformed into a Carnival Village with live performances from artists featured in the Parade plus Kasai Masai, Brent Holder Steel International and a community showcase for local performance groups. There will be art activities for the whole family including mask making, Afro-Brazilian drumming and dancing workshops, Capoeira workshops and much more. Stalls, food and drink tents, face painting and a Henna artist will add to the Carnival atmosphere for the whole afternoon!

Like wine, coffee tastes different depending on where it was grown. Come along and explore the coffee flavours with the use of smells and foods. The aroma lab will start at 7pm and run until 8pm. From 8 until 9pm we will run individual coffee tastings and help you fi nd your perfect coffee.

1.30pm The Three Mustgetbeers
Dr Bob & Big John opened the show last year with their brand of rockin’ country blues and this year they are back in The Three Mustgetbeers. The trio is completed by experienced guitarist and singer Brian Willoughby, who spent over 20 years with The Strawbs.
2.45pm Alix Anthony Band
Alix is unique - he sings, plays amazing guitar, and dances too. This year they have a fantastic second guitarist, Ross, allowing Alix to play a bit less and dance a bit more to his classic soul and rock covers - from James Brown to Jimi Hendrix.
4.30pm Klezma Villanova
Klezma are the hottest young band around, selling out gigs with their incredibly tight original songs which mix folk, ska, rock, classic pop and much else. Influences appear to be from Led Zeppelin to Bob Marley via old-time Music Hall. Whatever it is, it’s just brilliant!
6pm The Deputies
Finally, eight local, very experienced musicians playing a cool mix of covers from 60s to 90s with emphasis on classic, melodic British and American rock. From The Band to Clapton to The Stones, they create a gorgeous but exciting wall of sound.
